Wildlife Nesting Boxes
Thank you very much to Knox Wildlife Nesting Boxes for this fabulous donation that will help give homes to native animals
Did you know that Australia has the most hollow-dependent wildlife in the world? Tree hollows are vital to support a huge variety of our beloved native animals, like sugar gliders, kookaburras, microbats, ducks, owls, parrots, galahs, cockatoos and possums, for nesting, roosting and shelter.
It takes at least 80 years for trees to start forming hollows. With fewer natural tree hollows around due to forest clearing, urban development, bushfire and floods it’s super important to look after the natural hollows we have left.
We can also give our native wildlife a helping hand by providing them with nesting boxes. Watch this space for our next possum box making workshop and check out Knox Wildlife Nesting boxes video on YouTube to learn how to make a nesting box for your own backyard.
