How does Wattle Wildlife Shelter support wildlife and their habitat?
We care for orphan joeys and wildlife with injuries caused mainly by humans or their pets.
We also have a lot to do with treating Wombats with mange in our local area, treating Wombats for mange makes it safer for our joeys to have a safe place to live throughout their adult life.
We are very time poor with running our farm, working it for a living as well as the joeys and are very involved with mange control Inc an organisation that is in its third year covering large areas treating mange.
We fund our shelter ourselves and are very happy to do so with any donations directly pass on to Mange Control Inc.
What advice would you give the public?
When coming across a Joey wrap it up in something and keep it warm. Depending the time of year on weather it will need external heating. Then the faster we can get it the better chance it has.
