Each month we shine the light on wildlife shelters around Victoria showcasing the valuable work they do in rescuing and rehabilitating our wonderful and unique wildlife. Learn about what they do and see the faces behind these incredible volunteers dedicated in animal welfare, preservation and conservation.
All Wildlife Shelters are authorised by the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) to rehabilitate native wildlife.
They work 7 days a week 365 days a year rescuing and caring for the state’s injured, orphaned, sick and displaced wildlife. Providing vital work to conserve our wildlife population and their environment. They also help to educate the community and create awareness of the plight of our wildlife in Victoria. Find out what they have to say.

Lend a paw by purchasing a Wombaroo Gift Voucher for Bats of Geelong Wildlife Shelter.
For many wildlife rehabilitators, having access to life-saving food is often a necessity they struggle to afford. Unfortunately, they receive little to no government support for their crucial work. Gift vouchers make a significant difference for carers, whether it's purchasing a $20 Wombaroo voucher for a tiny joey or $1,000 voucher to support a mob of injured Kangaroo’s, every contribution plays a vital role in the recovery and survival of these precious creatures.
By providing these vouchers, you empower rehabilitators to continue their invaluable work, offering second chances to animals in need.

*Each voucher is email directly to the recipient to be used on anything in the store. Vouchers do not expire.

“Once again, thank you so much for spotlighting Chordata & Ko. Wildlife Shelter and supporting us always! With the money granted to us, we were able to set up a new reptile enclosure to assist in rehabilitating any sick and/or injured native reptiles!
We can't thank you enough for the support! This enclosure has been on our to-do list for quite some time, and with your grant we were able to purchase ceramic heaters, decor items, substrate, lighting, hides and food/water bowls!”
