To young to be on their own - Goshawk

Thank you to the member of public who called W4W about this juvenile Brown Goshawk in McCrae that was too little to be out of the nest and on its own.

We were able to organise for a local rescuer to rescue the bird of prey on our behalf and he was transported to Boobook Wildlife Shelter. The fledgling was emaciated and also severely underweight and was made comfortable in an ICU unit.

Update- After 5 days being in care and a trip to Healesville Sanctuary the Goshawk is starting to turn the corner. He is now coping with a small amount of solid food and has gained 10g in weight. Fingers crossed for this little fighter. He is not out of the woods yet but he is certainly making little improvements every day.

It was a great effort for everyone involved
