How does Locky’s Legacy support wildlife and their habitat?

19 years ago I had leukaemia, I was fortunate to survive after a bone marrow transplant. I asked why was I spared when young people near me were not. I had a purpose still to do, I needed to give back, give orphaned and injured wildlife a second chance like I had. I started with possums, birds, rescuing as well.

When we moved to Pakenham Upper 10 years ago, I chose a local animal which was the wombat, learning from long time wombat carers nearby as much as I could, I'm still learning and feel privileged to care for wildlife. They are all unique and amazing to help, personalities are different and their crazy antics constantly give me a smile.

What advice would you give the public?

Always report an injured animal, they need our help, don't leave them in pain. They have feelings and don't deserve to be left alone, cold, bleeding and broken. No cross means no check, there could be a baby on board. If you don't want to get involved, no time, just call Warriors for Wildlife or local wildlife carer for help.
