How does Tyabb Koala Hospital support wildlife and their habitat?

Jennie has been the 'go to' person for all things koala on the Mornington Peninsula for the last 40 years and is heavily relied upon by the community to rescue koalas and other native wildlife. She works around the clock because of her dedication and love for all animals. Her expertise of koalas is second to none and she has applied this to over 1500 cases of koalas in her care. All of this as a volunteer and often covering costs out of her own pocket. In 2013, Jennie received an Order of Australia medal for her volunteer work.

Our July Shelter Spotlight,
Jennie from Tyabb Koala Hospital, used her funding for a new shed thats going to be built at her shelter facility. She also used some of her money for seed and other produce at her local agricultural store.

There are many ways to help our wildlife and we get lots of calls a week with concerned Members of Public wanting to help. You can do this by reporting injured and orphaned wildlife or donating funds so that we can continue our programs and provide ongoing support to wildlife shelters.

What advice would you give the public?

Koala populations on the Mornington Peninsula are struggling. Please don't cut down trees as this is their biggest threat, and get involved in planting more with Mornington Peninsula Koala Conservation www.mpkoals.org.au

Support Tyabb Koala Hospital and the wildlife they care for by donating a Wombaroo Gift Voucher.

For many wildlife rehabilitators, having access to life-saving milk formula and supplements is often a necessity they struggle to afford. These dedicated individuals devote their lives to assisting wildlife, typically funding their efforts themselves and covering costs for baby formula, medicine, and supplies from their own pockets. Unfortunately, they receive little to no government support for their crucial work.
Gift vouchers make a significant difference for carers, whether it's purchasing a $20 Wombaroo voucher for a tiny joey or $1,000 voucher to support a mob of injured Kangaroo’s, every contribution plays a vital role in the recovery and survival of these precious creatures. By providing these vouchers, you empower rehabilitators to continue their invaluable work, offering second chances to animals in need.

Gift voucher for $50 from Warriors for Wildlife, accepted at Passwell and Di-Vetelact stores, with a golden ribbon and image of three kangaroos on green grass.
