How does Wattle Wildlife Shelter support wildlife and their habitat?

We are a small humble, passionate team, of Vets and Vet Nurses dedicated to caring and rehabilitating wildlife.

We love caring for Wombats and Ringtails the most and love being a part of their little journeys to release.

Last year we took in approximately 250 animals directly through the shelter and another 180 through our carers and this year are set to double that number.

We wouldn't be able to do it without our lovely support team of friends, and the local community helping us through with donations and volunteers.

How our project funding supported Wattle Wildlife Shelter

We are so incredibly grateful to Warriors for Wildlife! Thanks to the wonderful donations received through this initiative, we were able to purchase metal panels to build a secure wombat pen for our growing little joeys in care; Walter, Winter and Mei Mei.

The pen has been thoughtfully set up with a solid slab, soft flooring with interlocking floor squares, and timber panelling around the bottom half, to help prevent little escape artists from digging their way out! We've also added soft fabrics and cosy rugs to make it a comfortable, warm space for our wombats as they take the next big step in their rehabilitation journey and learn to deal with the "outside world" weather.

Every donation makes a real difference to the animals in our care, helping us provide safe, secure and comfortable spaces for them to grow, rehabilitate and prepare for life back in the wild.

From all of us at Wattle Wildlife Shelter, and especially Winter, Walter and Mei Mei, thank you so much!!!!

What advice would you give the public?

Please or stop if you hit and animal and call for help, also learn to perform pouch checks. It's so important to not leave a baby behind.

Lend a paw by purchasing a Wombaroo Gift Voucher for Carlisle River Wildlife Shelter.

For many wildlife rehabilitators, having access to life-saving food or equipment is often a necessity they struggle to afford. These dedicated individuals devote their lives to assisting wildlife, typically funding their efforts themselves and covering costs for baby formula, medicine, and supplies from their own pockets. Unfortunately, they receive little to no government support for their crucial work.
By providing these vouchers, you empower rehabilitators to continue their invaluable work, offering second chances to animals in need.
