Happy Halloween Rescue Story

Happy Rescue Story!

Our day began with a call about a Red-headed Flying Fox that had become stuck high in a tree, likely after a wild Halloween night This little fellow was initially discovered hanging from a fence before crawling to a nearby tree and climbing as high as possible.

A huge thank you goes out to the incredible member of the public who reported the situation, as well as to Bev and Paul from bat_rescue_bayside who promptly arrived on the scene. It required a ladder and a net for this challenging rescue!

Now named Hal (short for Halloween), the little one was quickly assessed by the Wildlife Victoria’s travelling vets. An X-ray revealed a swollen knuckle, but the prognosis is positive!

We appreciate everyone involved for contributing to this wonderful outcome!
