Baby Possums - How can you help?

We are currently receiving many calls about the public finding baby possums on the ground, what should you do if you find a baby possum?

The best thing to do is keep the baby warm and take it to you local vet, there is no charge for you to do this. The vet will make sure the baby is ok with no injuries and call their local wildlife shelter.

Please make sure you record the exact location of where it was found as sometimes the shelter is able to go back to the spot at night and reunite baby with mother which is the best outcome. If the mother can’t be found a baby possum can be in care for months at a time before being released back to the wild.
